The Harlot Queens Return to the WWC

Updated: Nov 25

This time they are taking over the WWC and throwing a ball!

The Harlot Queens was officially formed in 2017 by a troupe of trained renaissance faire actors that enjoyed performing together at a festival. Since then, The Harlot Queens has expanded, becoming a touring musical comedy group that travels throughout New England and beyond sharing original and traditional music, both family-friendly and bawdy pg-13 rated songs and skits with delighted audiences across the region.

The Harlot Queen Board President and Artistic Director Seana Lamothe describes the evening as a joyous event for friends and fans alike. "Our 'Midnight in the Garden Fantasy Ball' is a night of celebration. We are thrilled to showcase the ongoing restorations at the Woman’s Club and to mark the end of our very successful 2024 run, the release of a full-length album in 2025 and a cruise appearance in 2026!"

The Harlot Queens first appeared at 28 Court Street during the extremely successful WWC Market in November of 2023. Showcasing their vocal talents with traditional pub tunes and Irish ballads, the Queens were asked to return for a full show, including originals and bawdy tunes. In March of this year the theater was transformed into a great hall as the Queens took the stage again to a packed audience. "The Westfield Woman’s Club has hosted hundreds of performers over the years, but few have delighted our audiences like the Harlot Queens!  Their combination of traditional tunes for everyone to sing along with and uproarious skits made for a delightful evening." said Paula Godfrey, WWC President.

Lamothe commented, "We began a partnership with the Westfield Woman’s Club because some of our members have performed with the Westfield Theater Group and have attended events at the Woman’s Club. One of our members is on the WWC board, and another serves on the WTG board. We believe that the values of the Woman’s Club closely reflect those of our own, specifically empowering and improving the lives of women in the area."

So how will the "Midnight in the Garden Fantasy Ball" be different? Get ready for an immersive experience! The theater will become a proper ballroom for dancing along to fantasy themed modern dance music from a professional DJ. Downstairs, psychics will be on hand to divine your future. Hors d'oeuvres and light fare will be served, as well as a cash bar for wine or other beverages. In addition to a performance by the Harlot Queens, attendees can expect a variety of acts from renaissance faires around New England and beyond.

Grab your favorite ball gown and come light up the darkest night of the year with The Harlot Queens!

The event will be on Saturday, December 21st, from 7-11pm. Tickets are available through the WWC website on a $30-$40 sliding scale, or at the door for $45. Costumes are strongly encouraged but not required.
