The Sounds of Westfield Presents: Contra Dance with Crossover and Liz Nelson

Contra is, as they say, American as apple pie. Imagine a square dance or a Virginia reel, set to folk music. Have you ever been to a Contra Dance? Throw on your dancing shoes because now is your chance! Liz Nelson will lead a 30 minute demonstration and lesson before the music starts, provided by Crossover. There will be one 20 minute break during the evening, refreshments will be available for purchase.

Crossover are Alex Cumming (Accordion/Piano), Len Bittenson (Viola/Fiddle/Recorder) and Carol Bittenson (Fiddle). They have been performing as a trio now for over 5 years, playing for Contra and English Country Dances across New England and beyond. With Carol and Len's driving New England fiddle style and glorious harmonizations and Alex's robust and rhythmic backing, you are in for an exciting and very danceable few hours of music.
